How Do I Bake?
I graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with a degree in Baking and Pastry.
While working as a pastry chef, I was unfortunately diagnosed with Celiac Disease and Diabetes. These diagnoses changed my life. I love food and sharing a meal has always been how I connect with others. To have both of these diagnoses at once really shattered my love for food because I had no clue how I was going to move past it. But with the support of my family, I was able to find alternatives and I fell back in love with baking. I have transitioned nearly all of my recipes to be gluten free and as a food lover, I feel like I can say that they all taste pretty dang good.
This series will focus on recipes that are gluten free but not necessarily diabetes friendly. Because, let us be honest, baking and diabetes don’t really go together on a daily basis. But we can continue to be healthy in other ways! Either way, I shall live vicariously through you guys as you enjoy the recipes I have made.
If you post my recipe, please give me credit. Thank you for your support!
